By Felipe V. Celino
ROXAS CITY, Capiz — The Capiz Police Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (CPPDEU) arrested a 43-year-old man listed as a regional high-value drug target during a warrant operation in Barangay Rumbang, Pototan, Iloilo, on Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 20.
Police identified the suspect as alias Ken, whose listed address is Panitan, Capiz.
Ken was arrested on the strength of a warrant issued by Judge Sesinio Navales Belen Jr. of Regional Trial Court Branch 15 in Roxas City on Oct. 13, 2026, for an alleged violation of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Authorities classified Ken as a high-value individual included in the Regional Priority Target List of Police Regional Office 6.
His arrest followed an earlier police operation at a house linked to him in Barangay Bahit, Panitan, on Aug. 14, 2026.
During that operation, authorities seized a hand grenade, suspected unlicensed firearms and approximately 100 grams of suspected shabu.
The confiscated suspected drugs had an estimated standard drug value of PHP 680,000.
Personnel of the Philippine National Police and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency jointly searched the property linked to Dorado.
Authorities initially identified Ken as a resident of Barangay Bahit and a suspected drug personality included in the regional priority target list.
The search was conducted under three warrants issued by a Regional Trial Court judge in Roxas City on Aug. 13, 2026.
Police recovered a revolver of unspecified caliber loaded with five live rounds of ammunition, one magazine and a hand grenade.
They also confiscated two precharged pneumatic long guns and a replica airsoft handgun.
Drug-related evidence included two large sachets containing approximately 100 grams of suspected shabu, 15 improvised tooters, a weighing scale and a bundle of empty plastic sachets.
Dorado was not present when authorities served the search warrants.
Barangay Bahit chairperson Analiza Dorado previously said the suspect was not included in the Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council’s list of suspected drug personalities.
She also clarified that Ken was neither a drug surrenderer nor a current resident of the village, explaining that the searched house belonged to his parents.
Following his arrest in Pototan, Dorado was placed in the custody of the Roxas City Police Station pending proper disposition and referral to the court handling his case.
