ROXAS CITY, Capiz The Capiz Provincial Health Office (PHO) reported 222 positive human immune virus (HIV), based on its latest data.
According to Dr. Evelyn Bolido, PHO in-charge of HIV cases, said 3 to 4 persons added to the list of HIV cases.
Most of the cases are between 24 to 34 years old and are young professionals. The age group with the second highest cases is 15 to 24 years old.
Bolido said a 19-year-old tested positive for HIV.
The health official advised the public to be careful by observing safe sex practices ranging from abstinence, to the use of protection like condoms.
The Department of Health has also noted increasing HIV cases in the country, which it attributed to availability of testing centers and support systems offered by the government and the private sector.
