ROXAS CITY, Capiz— The province of Capiz including Roxas City did not have new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases on Monday.
The Capiz Provincial Health Office (PHO) reported that only 16 active cases are under medications in hospitals here.
Roxas City only has 4 active cases and posted zero new cases for four straight days.
The Roxas City Health Office (CHO) said the city has 646 confirmed cases with 605 recoveries and 37 deaths.
The province of Capiz has 1,216 confirmed cases including 1,142 recoveries and 58 deaths.
Meanwhile, Roxas City Mayor Ronnie Dadivas said he is happy with the status of COVID-19 cases in the city.
But he advised the public not to be complacent because the deadly virus will eventually show up and spread any time.
The mayor said that the city government has allocated funds in the 2021 budget for the purchase of vaccines.
He said a meeting with the city and municipal mayors will be held today January 13, 2021 to discuss the vaccine procurement.
Dadivas is hoping that the national government will augment the city’s budget for the purchase of the vaccine.
He added that the senior citizens, persons with disabilities, frontliners, uniformed personnel, and government workers will be the priority in the vaccination.
