ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Gov. Esteban Evan “Nonoy” Contreras will deliver his first State of the Province Address (SOPA) simultaneously with his 50th birthday on Nov 6, 2019.
The schedule was suggested by department heads and provincial administrator Edwin Monares.
Aside from the SOPA, other activities are the formal opening of the Malasakit Center at the Roxas Memorial Provincial Hospital (RMPH), presentations of the rebel returnees of Capiz, and the official launching of Kabalaka Caravan Kapitolyo sa Barangay.
Monares said several high ranking officials from national and local governments will attend the celebration.
He confirmed the attendance of Senator Christopher “Bong” Go who will be the guest of honor during the launching of Malasakit Center where he pledged P5 million every month for the indigent patients of RMPH.
Davao City Mayor Inday Sara Duterte was also invited but she has yet to confirm her attendance.
Monares said they formed a task force for the celebration.
Under Memorandum Order No. 167-2019, all department heads were directed to join in the celebration to be led by the Provincial Tourism and Cultural Affairs Office (PTCAO).
Meanwhile, Contreras governor clarified that the Capitol will not spend on the occasion as the budget came from private organizations abroad that invited him after the May 13, 2019 elections.
