ROXAS CITY, Capiz— Capiz Governor Esteban Evan Nonoy Contreras donated his one-month salary to medical frontliners of the Roxas Memorial Provincial Hospital here.
Roxas City Mayor Ronnie Dadivas also followed suit and added his salary to help buy rice for residents affected by the enhanced community quarantine in the city.
Meanwhile, the group of Indian nationals also donated 100 sacks of rice to local government units in Capiz.
Among the recipients of the rice donations were Roxas City (40 sacks), Ivisan (15), Panitan (10), President Roxas (10), Pilar (10), Pontevedra (15), and Panay (10).
Capiz has three positive COVID-19 cases, one of them already died while the other recovered.
Contreras is contemplating to extend the Enhanced Community Quarantine in the whole province of Capiz until April 30, 2020.
Contreras said that what had happened to Singapore should not happen in Capiz.
Singapore lifted the community quarantine seemingly too early only to see COVID-19 cases rise again.
