Capiz eases rules for returning residents

ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Capiz-bound locally stranded individuals (LSI) are no longer required to undergo quarantine and secure medical certificates and travel authority documents.

This was decided during the recent meeting conducted by the Provincial Inter-Agency Task Force (PIATF) together with other concerned agencies.

Capiz Governor Esteban Evan Nonoy Contreras issued Executive Order No. 9 series of 2021 in relation to the new guidelines which takes effect today, March 8, 2021.

Judy Grace Pelaez, Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office head, said they will follow Resolution No. 101 of the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) which implemented uniform travel protocols in the country.

But travelers must present negative RT-PCR test results within three days before their scheduled travel to Capiz.

“Should a traveler have positive results of RT-PCR test, they will not be allowed to go home but they must be isolated in their point of origin,” Pelaez said.

Local government units will also not fetch Capiz-bound LSIs.

Pelaez said authorities will strictly implement the health protocols such as wearing of facemask, social distancing, and hand washing to ensure protection from the corona virus disease (COVID-19).

The rules for returning overseas Filipinos remain the same, meaning they must undergo quarantine and secure medical certificates and travel authority papers.
