Capiz dengue cases climb to 763

ROXAS CITY, Capiz — Dengue cases in Capiz rose to 763 from Jan. 4 to Sept. 5, 2026, according to the Capiz Provincial Health Office.

Based on the Morbidity Week 35 report, 39 were newly recorded cases, while the overall total was 30.57% lower than the 1,099 cases reported during the same period last year.

Municipalities with new cases were Cuartero, 2; Dao, 1; Dumalag, 3; Dumarao, 1; Ivisan, 2; Maayon, 3; Mambusao, 9; Panay, 2; Pilar, 1; Pontevedra, 3; Sapi-an, 2; Tapaz, 4; and Roxas City, 6.

The PHO also identified 19 barangays with dengue case clustering.

These were Poblacion Ilaya in Cuartero; Poblacion in Dumalag; East Villaflores in Maayon; Batiano, Bato-Bato, Maralag, and Poblacion Proper in Mambusao; Cogon, Salocon, and Tabuc Sur in Panitan; Dulangan and San Pedro in Pilar; Bago, Bolo, Cagay, and Loctugan in Roxas City; and Poblacion, San Miguel Ilaya, and Switch in Tapaz.

Dengue fatalities remained at four, with no additional deaths recorded.

The fatalities were from Tapaz and Maayon, with one each, and Roxas City, with two.

The PHO continued to remind residents, particularly those in affected barangays, to observe the 5S strategy against dengue: search and destroy mosquito breeding sites, practice self-protection measures, seek early consultation, support fogging or spraying in affected areas, and sustain hydration.
