Capiz cop, aide hurt after car hits post

ROXAS CITY, Capiz — A Philippine National Police officer and a non-uniformed personnel were injured when the car they were riding hit an electric post early Monday, March 9, in Barangay Lawaan, Roxas City.
Authorities identified the police officer as alias “Marvin,” 38, an active PNP member assigned to the Capiz Police Provincial Office and a resident of Barangay Lawaan, Roxas City.
His passenger was identified as alias “Jun,” 37, married, a non-uniformed personnel assigned to the Capiz Police Provincial Office, and a resident of Anhawon, Panay, Capiz.
An investigation by the Roxas City Police Station found that alias “Marvin” was driving a Toyota Altis at about 4 a.m. toward Roxas City proper from Barangay Lanot when he lost control of the vehicle and hit the post.
The police officer sustained head injuries and wounds to other parts of his body, while the passenger suffered an injury to his left elbow and other parts of his body.
The Roxas City Emergency Response Team immediately brought the two to Roxas Memorial Provincial Hospital for treatment.
Police are investigating the incident.
