ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A lady member of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) of Capiz was infected with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
Board Member Thea Faith Reyes said her RT-PCR test was positive for SARS-CoV-2, which causes the infection.
She said she is asymptomatic.
The board member from the First District of Capiz advised persons whom she had close contact with for the past week to undergo self-quarantine and monitor their health.
Meanwhile, the province of Capiz has logged 4,450 confirmed cases of COVID-19.
Based on the data released by the Provincial Health Office (PHO) on Saturday afternoon, 3,665 persons have recovered.
At present, the province has 548 active cases after 33 new cases were added on Saturday.
The disease also claimed 235 lives so far.
On the other hand, 36,708 persons were vaccinated against COVID-19 in the province of Capiz.
PHO report said it already reached 7% of the eligible population of 545,494.
The vaccinated persons include 13,270 who received their second dose – 8,670 healthcare workers (A1), 2,512 senior citizens (A2), and 2,088 persons with comorbidity (A3).
