ROXAS CITY, Capiz — The provincial government of Capiz on Thursday morning, May 7, gave PHP 6,500 in additional allowances to the delegation of the Schools Division of Capiz that participated in the recent Western Visayas Regional Athletic Association Meet 2026 in Passi City, Iloilo.
The distribution was led by Gov. Fredenil “Oto” Castro at the Capiz Gym in Villareal Stadium here.
The additional allowance was intended for 694 athletes, coaches, assistant coaches, chaperones, and trainers who represented Capiz during the WVRAA.
The additional incentive was announced and promised by the governor during the send-off ceremony on March 14, 2026, at Capiz National High School here.
Before this incentive, the provincial government gave each delegation member a PHP 3,500 allowance.
With the additional PHP 6,500, each delegation member received a total allowance of PHP 10,000.
The WVRAA Meet serves as the regional qualifying competition for student-athletes in Western Visayas and is part of the pathway to higher school-based athletic competitions.
