ROXAS CITY, Capiz – The provincial government of Capiz and 12 municipalities, including Roxas City, have passed the 2024 Seal of Good Financial Housekeeping (SGFH) of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG)-Capiz.
In a report released by the DILG on Saturday, March 1, the local government units that earned the recognition are Roxas City, Ivisan, Sigma, Cuartero, Dumarao, Dumalag, Dao, Mambusao, Tapaz, Panitan, Pilar, and Pontevedra.
The SGFH recognizes LGUs that uphold accountability and transparency in financial management.
It promotes the responsible and efficient use of public funds, minimizes corruption and misuse, and enhances public awareness of fund allocation for local development projects.
To qualify for the SGFH, an LGU must adhere to accounting and auditing standards, comply with full disclosure policies, manage resources wisely, and effectively utilize available tools for local development.
