BACOLOD City – Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz said the Negros Occidental provincial government will review the status of its major projects.
Diaz said concerns have been raised on the delayed the completion of major infrastructure projects.
He said the Negros Occidental Provincial Engineering Office was already instructed to submit the names of projects including contractors.
These projects include the Mambukal Convention Hotel, Pala-Pala Food Terminal, the Provincial Administration Center, and a new building near the NBI-Bacolod Office.
Earlier, Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson expressed concern about the delays in the completion of projects.
Diaz said “We intend to finish the projects within the year. There will be no sacred cow in the review of these projects. We will determine the slippage of the contractor. That is why we ordered the Engineering Office so that would be our basis to tell and remind the contractors of their delay.”
He added that “we will issue demand letters if necessary.”
He also said that the projects’ specifications will also be reviewed.
