ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A 76-year-old senior citizen facing a charge for the crime of statutory rape was arrested by police Monday at Barangay Malunang, Zarraga, Iloilo.
Guillermo Telesforo, a native of Barangay Guintas, Sigma, Capiz, did not resist when the police served an arrest warrant against him.
Telesforo was charged for statutory rape in Criminal Case No. C-11-1132-05.
Regional Trial Court Branch 20 Judge Ignacio Alajar of Mambusao, Capiz ordered his arrest on May 30, 2011 with no bail.
The operation was jointly conducted by Sigma Municipal Police Station and Zarraga Municipal Police Station.
Telesforo is presently detained in Sigma Municipal Police Station.
