ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A 42-year-old lineman of the Capiz Electric Cooperative (Capelco) died after he was accidentally electrocuted while fixing the distribution line at Brgy. Pinay Mambusao, Capiz Saturday afternoon.
The Mambusao Municipal Police Station identified the lineman as Roderick Detangco of Brgy. Timpas, Panitan, Capiz. He was declared dead on arrival at Mambusao District Hospital.
Detangco suffered third degree burns in different parts of his body.
Engr. Edgar Diaz, Capelco General Manager, said they are saddened by the incident and hailed Detangco as a fallen hero.
The Capelco management is expected to give financial assistance to the family of Detangco, who was a widower with two young kids.
