ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Seven personnel of the Capiz Electric Cooperative (Capelco) were deployed to Bicol and Mindoro provinces to help restore electricity in the aftermath of typhoons Quinta and Rolly.
Engr. Edgar Diaz, Capelco general manager, said the seven personnel will help other electric cooperatives in fixing electrical lines devastated by the typhoons.
The Capelco team is composed of five linemen, a driver, and a team leader who will take part in “Task Force Kapatiran.”
Diaz said the Capelco team will first help Mindoro province which was first affected by typhoon Quinta.
The group will then proceed to Bicol province which was lately devastated by typhoon Rolly.
Diaz said 54 electric cooperatives will help restore power supply in typhoon-ravaged provinces. The teams are composed of 380 linemen and 88 trucks.
The personnel came from the different electric cooperatives in Regions 1, 3, 6 and 8.
Several electric cooperatives also helped Capelco restore power supply when typhoons Yolanda and Ursula hit Capiz in 2013 and 2019, respectively.
