Calvin “The Beast” Abueva confirmed that he received an offer from one of the teams in the Japanese B. League after a text from his agent.
Days after Thirdy “King Eagle” Ravena revealed he will be taking his talents to San-En NeoPhoenix in Japan, Abueva posted through his Instagram account that he had received an offer from one of the squads in the B. League.
“May alok ako, tinext ako nung kaibigan kong agent. Hinahanap nga raw ako sa kanya ng isang Japanese team,” said Abueva.
However, Abueva showed no interest in accepting the offer stating that his main goal is to fix his current issue with the PBA and is excited to suit up and help the Phoenix Fuel Masters once the league resumes.
“Sa ngayon, hindi ko pa masyado nahaharap kasi may contract pa ko, saka kung ako masusunod, gusto ko muna ayusin yung sa PBA. Yun naman talaga ang gusto natin,” added Abueva.
Even before his PBA draft announcement way back 2012, Abueva shared that he had been getting multiple offers overseas from Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, and Thailand.
“May mga alok sa kin dati, marami. Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Thailand, iba-iba. Pero hindi ko nga yun pinansin kasi that time gusto ko maglaro sa PBA. Yun yung dream ko kahit nung simula pa lang,” he said.
