BACOLOD City – A member of the Citizen Armed Force Geographical Unit (Cafgu) was killed by suspected New People’s Army (NPA) at Sitio Proper, Barangay Sandayao, Guihulngan City, Negros Oriental last Sunday.
The Army identified the victim as Jeger Flores, 29, of the said village.
According to the Army, the victim was shot by four unidentified perpetrators believed to be members of NPA Central Negros 1.
Flores succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds in the body.
Lieutenant Colonel William Pesase Jr., acting commander of 62nd Infantry Battalion (IB), expressed his condolences to the family of Flores.
“We strongly condemn this kind of violence and human rights violation,” Pesase said.
He encouraged the residents and barangay officials to continue working with security forces on the whereabouts of these criminals.
Together, let us give justice to the family of the poor victim and bring peace and development in Central Negros, he added.
