Businesswoman, brother robbed

BACOLOD City – Policemen have already persons of interest behind the robbery-hold-up incident victimizing a businesswoman and her brother at Sitio Proper, Barangay Buenavista, Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental last Tuesday.

Police Lieutenant Romulo Gepilango, deputy police chief of Himamaylan City Police Station, said the 45-year-old victim and her brother were on their way home on board their tricycle when they were waylaid by at least two unidentified suspects.

One of the perpetrators allegedly threatened the woman at knifepoint and took her bag containing cash sales amounting to P50,000, bank passbook, and Automated Teller Machine (ATM) card, while the other suspect reportedly threatened her brother at gunpoint.

The robbers then fled on board a motorcycle, according to the police.

Gepilango said they already have a lead on the identities of the perpetrators, whom they considered to be “armed and dangerous.”

He, however, said that these robbers can be considered “small time,” as they do not belong to any group, though they had previous records for robbery-hold-up.

Gepilango said it’s possible that the perpetrators have monitored the routine of the victim, as they targeted her.

“Gin bantayan gid sila, pero wala man sila ginsakit,” he added. Investigation is ongoing.
