Businessman wanted for lasciviousness surrenders

ROXAS CITY, Capiz — A businessman wanted for acts of lasciviousness voluntarily surrendered to police Monday morning, July 6.

The suspect, identified only by the alias “Ivan,” 33, of Block 36, Lot 11, Malipayon Village, Barangay Tiza, Roxas City, surrendered to the Roxas City Police Station around 8:21 a.m.

Police said the suspect told investigators he surrendered because he wanted to face the case filed against him.

The suspect was listed by police as an other wanted person.

The warrant for his arrest was issued June 22, 2026, by Judge Kathleen G. Delantar, presiding judge of the Municipal Trial Court in Cities Branch 2 in Roxas City, Capiz.

The suspect was released from police custody after posting PHP 36,000 bail for his temporary liberty.

Acts of lasciviousness is a criminal offense involving intentional and nonconsensual sexual acts that do not amount to rape.

It is prosecuted under Article 336 of the Revised Penal Code or, if the victim is a minor, under Section 5(b) of Republic Act No. 7610, or the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act.
