BACOLOD City – The Vallacar Transit Inc. (VTI) denied the recent rumors spreading on social media about a yellow bus loaded with passengers on top of the vehicle at Libertad Public Market here.
In a statement released on Dec. 10, Jade Seballos, VTI media and legal officer, clarified that the yellow bus was not a Ceres Liner bus.
A photo showed a yellow bus with passengers seated on the roof of the vehicle.
“It is not the practice of VTI Management to put the lives of the general riding public at risk,” Seballos said.
The bus firm noted that they are compliant with the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board’s (LTFRB) policies.
This had served to confuse the public and cast wrongful assumptions on the management’s adherence to the regulations set by the LTFRB, she said.
For several years, VTI had partnered with the modernization program of the agency, and these programs were implemented to further improve the service that they are providing, as far as the reliability of said service, safety, and comfort of the riding public, she added.
This incident is in clear violation of the franchise that has been granted by the agency, and we do not condone this type of blatant use of the bus’s signature colors, she said.
The management has a sufficient number of units to cater to the riding public’s needs, and there is no reason to let them be uncomfortable during their travels, she said, adding that they value lives and they will continue to provide an efficient service to the Negrosanons.
