BACOLOD City – The burnt body of a woman was found near a bridge at Barangay Poblacion in Guihulngan City, Negros Oriental Wednesday
A 20-year-old resident of the village stumbled upon the remains of the 48-year-old fatality whom the police declined to identify.
According to a report from Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office (Norppo), the victim was seen holding two bottles of liquor filled with gasoline she bought from a nearby gasoline station on Tuesday night, based on a copy of a closed circuit television (CCTV) camera footage installed in the city.
She walked towards Bateria Bridge, where she was found few meters the following day at around 7:30 a.m.
Authorities recovered the bottles of liquor and a lighter.
Police said that the victim’s family revealed that she was suffering from depression.
A post mortem examination was conducted to determine any foul play.
