BACOLOD City – A man who was found with gunshot wounds at Sitio Bagaas, Barangay Tabigue, E.B. Magalona, Negros Occidental on Thursday morning expired at Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital here later that day.
Captain Joseth Catonina, town police chief, said they already have the identity of the victim, but refused to release it for now for verification.
Catonina said the victim was found by a concerned citizen by the roadside around 4:40AM. He had two gunshot wounds in the head and another in his left shoulder.
Catonina said the victim was already unconscious and was in critical condition when brought to the hospital.
Police recovered from the scene a fired cartridge case of a suspected .45 caliber.
Catonina said it’s possible that the crime was committed there because some residents heard three gunshots and a motorcycle in the area early that day.
He said they also believed that he was a victim of summary killing.
He said they could not yet determine the motive because the identity of the victim remains unclear.
