The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) and the Philippine Space Agency (PhilSA) jointly organized the “Introduction to Geographic Information System and Remote Sensing” workshop, held from 28 to 30 April 2025 at the BSP Head Office in Manila. The workshop brought together participants from various BSP departments to strengthen their technical capacity in using geospatial tools for incorporating climate- and environment-related factors into macroeconomic modeling, monetary policy analysis, and financial risk monitoring.

This initiative supports the BSP’s sustainability agenda by building institutional capacity to assess and manage environment-related risks to price and financial stability.
