Rumors that super import Justin Brownlee is scuttling Alab Pilipinas in the ongoing ASEAN Basketball League (ABL) were not true after all.
Rumors started to spread about Brownlee ditching the team after failing to board flights to Malaysia last week and to Manila last Sunday.
With the consecutive failure of complying with the team’s request of his time of arrival, Alab management decided to give Brownlee a final schedule in joining the team and this time, he complied and even joined the team practice.
With the shaky season Alab is going through and the team being hounded by inconsistency, the arrival of Brownlee will hopefully have a stabilizing effect and help the team return to playing good basketball.
Also, John Fields, a former PBA big man import, will be replacing Sam Deguara and arrived together with Brownlee.
Both players will see action this Sunday as the Alab squad will take on Saigon in Ho Chi Minh City.
