Brothers hurt in Alimodian shooting

Two brothers were wounded following a shooting incident early morning on June 1 in Alimodian, Iloilo.
The victims were identified as Jiegson Villanueva, 29, and Jessie Reign Villanueva, 19, both residents of Magallanes St., Poblacion Alimodian.
Police identified the suspect as Ryan Blancia, around 40 years old, a resident of Barangay Ulay, Hinablan, Alimodian.
According to reports, Jiegson and Blancia had a heated argument shortly before the shooting.
During the verbal tussle, the suspect pulled a handgun and shot Jiegson several times. The bullet also hit Jiegson’s younger brother, Jessie Reign.
Jiegson sustained a wound on his right thigh while Jessie Reign suffered injuries on his abdomen. Both victims were brought to ALEOSAN District Hospital for treatment.
The suspect fled after the incident.
Police said old grudges triggered the incident.
