Two brothers were arrested in Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO)‘s heightened anti-illegal drug campaign evening of Jan 14, 2023.
Police identified the suspects as June Mark Distro, 29, and Michael Dustro, 24, both residents of Barangay Don Esteban, Lapuz, Iloilo City.
Members of the ICPO City Drug Enforcement Unit, together with the Iloilo City Police Station 2, the Iloilo City Mobile Force Company, and the Regional Intelligence Unit 6, arrested the duo for allegedly selling a sachet of suspected shabu for P3,100.
Recovered from the Distro brothers were six sachets of suspected shabu, the buy-bust money, and several non-drug items.
Police operatives estimated the seized drugs at P50 grams with a standard drug price of P340,000.
June Mark denied that he was into the illegal drug trade, but he admitted to using illegal drugs before.
His brother Michael did not give any statement.
The two brothers are now detained and will be charged with violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
