A 62-year-old foreigner was found dead mid-morning of November in his rented room at Molo, Iloilo City.
Oscar Monterosa, 62, an El Salvador-born US Citizen from Maryland, was found lifeless inside his rented room at Zone 2, Barangay San Juan, Molo.
Alex Embro, 45, the boarding house caretaker, informed the Iloilo City Police Station 4 about Monterosa’s condition.
Initial police investigation revealed that the victim was found lying on the floor beside his bed.
There seemed to be no foul play or signs that a crime took place.
Investigators noted that no superficial injuries were found on the victim’s body.
His personal belongings, cash, and two mobile phones were found on top of his bed.
Embro said the victim has not paid his rent for four months as he appeared to be unemployed.
The boarding house owner reportedly provided him with free meals and occasionally gave him cash.
Police said Monterosa has been abandoned by his Filipina wife.
