Brod of slain Moises Padilla councilor files candidacy

MOISES PADILLA, Negros Occ. The younger brother of the late Sangguniang Bayan member Michael Garcia filed his candidacy for the same post to replace the latter.
Vincent Bryan Garcia, 25, will replace Michaels slot in the slate of Vice Mayor Ella Garcia-Yulo who is running for mayor against her uncle, incumbent Mayor Magdaleno Peña.
Vincent Bryan filed his certificate of candidacy with Municipal Election officer Rosanna P.Lamig.
“I will continue what my brother has started,” Vincent Bryan told reporters here.
He said his elder brother Michael’s advocacies are sports and education.
Bryan said the untimely death of his brother is a big loss not only to their family but their community as well.
He said his elder is very friendly and well-loved by people of Moises Padilla.
Michael was killed in an ambush on the convoy of Vice Mayor Yulo while on the campaign trail at Barangay Inolingan last April 25, 2019.
Also killed was former Association of Barangay Captains president Mark Garcia, brother of the vice mayor.
Michael will be laid to rest on May 18, 2019 while Marks remains were cremated.
