ROXAS CITY, Capiz — A member of the Barangay Peacekeeping Action Team and the municipality’s No. 1 most wanted person was arrested Monday morning, Jan. 19, in Poblacion Tabuc, Maayon, Capiz.
Police served a warrant of arrest against Felizardo Duro Ilagan, 56, a resident of the area, for the crime of homicide.
The warrant was issued by Judge Sesinio Navales Belen Jr. of the Regional Trial Court Branch 15 on Dec. 10, 2025.
The court set bail at PHP 120,000 for Ilagan’s temporary liberty, and he is currently under the custody of the Maayon Police Station for proper disposition.
Ilagan is accused of stabbing Bernard Dilla, 31, a resident of Barangay Tuburan, Maayon, in July last year.
Police said the victim was drinking coffee at a coffee shop when Ilagan allegedly stabbed him in the stomach.
Dilla reportedly attempted to flee, but the suspect chased him and stabbed him twice more, hitting the right portion of his chest.
Bystanders rushed the victim to Bailan District Hospital, but he was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.
Police said the suspect fled the scene on a motorcycle.
