Rey was declared dead on arrival at Capiz Doctors Hospital at around 1pm.
According to his mother Grace, she found her son lying in their living room.
She said the victim was very cold.
With the help of other relatives, they brought Rey to the hospital.
The family later learned through the photos in his cellphone that Rey was bitten by a cobra snake he kept.
The angry mother then drew a bolo and hacked the cobra to death.
The mother said her son was fond of taking care of endangered and exotic species such as snakes, fishes, alligators, and lizards.
