BACOLOD City – An eight-year-old boy drowned in a river at Barangay II, Ilog, Negros Occidental on Saturday.
Police withheld the name of the victim.
Police said that the child would usually play at the river with his friends. However, there’s a portion of the river that is deep and the child probably did not notice it and he was not able to be assisted by his friends.
The child was found floating at the river at Sitio Malabong, where he drowned.
He was brought to a hospital, where he was declared dead.
