Boy, 7 drowns in river

BACOLOD City – A seven-year-old boy died from drowning in a river at Purok Busay, Barangay Cabug here yesterday.
Police withheld the name of the minor-victim.
Police Major Ritchie Gohee, head of Police Station 9, said the victim, along with his three friends went swimming into the river around 9 a.m.
But his three friends probably did not notice him drowning.
His friends did not immediately report the incident to their parents as they tried to look for him, Gohee said.
It was around 12 noon when the victim’s mother searched for her son, who was later found floating in the river.
The victim was rushed by barangay rescuers to a hospital but he was declared dead on arrival.
