BACOLOD City – A Grade 1 pupil died after he drowned in a swimming pool in Barangay RSB, La Carlota City, Negros Occidental last Friday.
Lieutenant Colonel Lymel John Pasquin, city police chief, said the 7-year-old victim, along with his relatives and friends, went swimming after they were invited by his uncle’s friend.
It is believed that the victim drowned in the deeper portion of the pool.
Pasquin said the victim’s uncle was also at the venue at that time, but he failed to notice his nephew.
The victim was rescued and taken to Don Salvador Benedicto Memorial District Hospital. However, he was declared dead.
