Boy, 11, hurt by firecrackers

BACOLOD City – The City Health Office (CHO) here has reported its first case of firecracker-related injury on Christmas Day.
Based on the data of the CHO, the victim was an 11-year-old boy from Barangay Estefania.
Dr. Grace Tan, head of the Environment Sanitation Division of the CHO, said the victim got injured from a five-star firecracker on Christmas eve and was brought to the hospital the following day.
He was then sent home after receiving treatment at the hospital, Tan said.
The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) has reiterated its reminders to the public to refrain from using illegal firecrackers for a safe and peaceful celebration of the New Year.
