ROXAS CITY– An 11-year-old boy accidentally drowned to his death Monday afternoon while boating in a river at Sitio Paslang, Barangay Salocon in Panitan, Capiz.
According to Darius Daliva, operation officer of Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (MDRRMO)-Panitan, the body of a certain Boyet was fished out of the water Tuesday morning during the search and retrieval operation by volunteers.
The body was found some 100 meters away from the place where he went missing. The boy was on board a banca made of bamboo when he jumped into the water after the strong water current swept the boat away.
The body was already bloated when found.
The victim was invited by his friends for a boat ride when the incident happened.
