Boxing champ Jerwin Ancajas completes Navy Seals workout

World boxing champion Jerwin Ancajas and head trainer Joven Jimenez showed that their conditioning since their intensive training last March is more than enough.

The International Boxing Federation (IBF) super-flyweight title-holder decided to take part in the Naval Special Operations Group (NAVSOG) of the Philippine Navy and survived the grueling series of circuit activities.

“Ngayon niya lang nagawa yung mga ganung exercises kaya nangapa siya nung una. Pero nung kalagitnaan na, okay na siya,” Jimenez said.

Ancajas didn’t receive any special treatment from the Philippine Navy and participated in the designated program from start to finish, doing deep-knee bends with boat, roll left and right, jumping jacks, push-ups, duck walks, etc.

Although finding difficulty with the pace in the early part of the training, the 28-year-old champion settled in during the middle part of the workout.

Upon completion of the Navy workout, Ancajas received a certificate of acceptance as an honorary member of NAVSOG after “surviving the reception of Basic Underwater Demolitions SEAL Course 82.”
