The pristine shores of Boracay are set to host the grand finale of the 10th season of the Philippine Kiteboarding Tour, the longest-running kiteboarding competition in Asia, from March 14 to 16, 2025.
“We are thrilled to mount our final leg of our Kiteboarding Tournament in Boracay, known for its perfect conditions and breathtaking scenery,” said Jay Ortiz, President of the Philippine Kiteboarding Association (PKA) and the chief organizer of the tournament.
“This event will not only showcase the incredible talent within the kiteboarding community but also highlight Boracay’s commitment to adventure sports and environmental conservation,” he added.
More than 80 elite kiteboarders from around the world will gather at Aqua Boracay, Bulabog Beach, for three days of intense competition, showcasing skill, speed, and aerial mastery in one of the country’s premier water sports destinations.
Among the top contenders is Yo Pudla of Thailand, an eight-time Asian Cup Champion and the current IKA Asian Champion in Twin-Tip Racing.
He will face off against elite athletes such as Stefan Vance of Northern Ireland and local standout Warner Janoya, a Boracay-born kiter and rising star in Men’s Freestyle and Foil Racing.
Adding to the excitement, Triina Trei of Estonia, reigning Season 9 Overall Champion in Women’s Freestyle, and Cyril Dacudao of Boracay, defending Women’s Foil Racing Champion, will battle competitors from Japan, Europe, and Australia for their respective titles.
The competition will feature four adrenaline-packed disciplines: Foil Racing, Twin-Tip Racing, Freestyle, and Hangtime.
The upcoming Paris 2024 Summer Olympics marks the debut of kite foil racing in the sailing competitions, further fueling PKA’s mission to grow the sport and develop future Olympians for Los Angeles 2028.
The PKA Tour Season 10 Boracay stop is powered by International Container Terminal Services Inc. (ICTSI) and hosted by Aqua Boracay, with support from the Department of Tourism Region 6, Neutra K, ICT Cloverleaf Trading, ZIV, Sun Zapper, Manila Water, Boracay Water, and various local businesses.
The PKA was established in early 2013, with support from the ICTSI. The association aims to develop local kiteboarding talent, promote the sport nationally, and enhance local tourism by showcasing the Philippines’ beautiful kiteboarding destinations.
