BACOLOD City – Another alleged bomb threat was reported in Bago City, Negros Occidental over the weekend.
Police Major John Joel Batusbatusan, city police chief, said they received a call from the school head of Abuanan Elementary School in Barangay Abuanan on Saturday night informing them about the alleged bomb threat that was written on a blackboard.
Batusbatusan said a message saying “The bomb is over there. Die!!! All” was discovered inside a Grade 1 classroom.
He said the teacher assigned in the said classroom told the police that nothing was written on the board when she locked the room Friday. However, police believed that a person may have sneaked in the window and wrote the threat on the board.
Police also asked assistance from the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) K9 unit for a thorough inspection of the whole campus.
Since the area did not pose security risks to law enforcers, the PCG decided to cordon the area when they responded, and returned the following day. The PCG K9 unit declared the campus free of any bomb Sunday morning.
Last week, classes at Ramon Torres National High School Main Campus in Bago City were also suspended following a bomb threat, which later turned out negative.
Batusbatusan appealed to the public to avoid making bomb jokes because they can be held liable for such action.
