Authorities have yet to identify the body of a boy discovered along the shoreline of a resort in Sibunag, Guimaras on November 7.
Police said the child was estimated to be around 3 to 4 years old with a fair complexion.
He was found wearing a dark and gray shirt without undergarments around 2 p.m. Friday at the shoreline of Costa Aguada Resort, located on the eastern side of Barangay Inampulugan Island.
The body was discovered by a resort maintenance worker named Relisa while she was cleaning the area.
The resort management reported the incident to the Philippine Coast Guard–Sibunag Substation, which then coordinated with the local police.
Colonel Rhea Santos, Guimaras police chief, said the boy’s remains were already in an advanced state of decomposition.
No visible external injuries were found on the body.
Santos said DNA samples have been taken from the child for identification purposes.
She added that a flash alarm has been sent to other police offices across the region and nearby provinces.
They also received a report from Bago City Police Station in Negros Occidental, but the case involved a missing girl, not a boy.
