A newborn baby was found dead inside a garbage truck at Kalibo, Aklan early morning of Oct. 10.
Tyron Luciano, 31, a garbage collector of the Kalibo local government, said he was collecting garbage along Jaime Cardinal Sin Ave., Barangay Andagaw, Kalibo, when they discovered the body.
Luciano said he found the baby as he was sorting through collected garbage inside the truck.
The lifeless baby boy was found inside a white plastic that he initially thought was leftover food.
Luciano and the garbage truck driver, Fernando Rodiano Jr., turned over the body to Kalibo Police Station at 5:50 a.m.
Lieutenant Colonel Ricky Bontogon, Kalibo police chief, said they’re still checking CCTV cameras in the areas where the truck collected the garbage to determine the person who threw the baby.
Bontogon said that it was not the first time that a fetus was left discarded. Several months ago, a fetus was also left in Kalibo area.
