Top Rank Promotions head honcho said that he and Pacquiao talked via Zoom, where the living legend intimated his wish of taking on undefeated WBO welterweight champion, Terence Crawford this year.
“Manny was getting ready to go to bed, it was morning in California, and said he is ready to go against Terrence Crawford,” Arum said.
Arum and Top Rank have been working the phones the past few months, trying to work out all the kinks for the possible mega-fight.
Meanwhile, Crawford and his camp expressed that they really don’t care who the champion faces, further saying that Crawford will face whoever dares to block his way to the top.
Reports last month stated that Arum is planning to stage the fight in the Middle East because of the current conditions in the USA brought by COVID-19.
Later on, Arum also raised attention to Macau’s organizers, preparing the venue as the back-up in case the Middle East doesn’t pan out.
With the early preparations made by Arum and both fighters showing interest for the mega- fight, it seems there is a big possibility we could witness the fight this year.
