An electrocution incident at a construction site led to a man’s death and triggered a power outage in some parts of Mandurriao, Iloilo afternoon of February 26.
The incident occurred after security guard Rey Doctor, 36, a resident of Barangay Balud, Dumangas, Iloilo touched the main power line at the construction site around 1:30PM of Friday.
Major Jonathan Pinuela, Mandurriao police chief, said the victim worked as a part-time welder for MJBL Construction, the sub-contractor of Woodland Construction Company.
MJBL is constructing a classroom building inside Mandurriao Elementary School at Barangay Oñate-de Leon, Mandurriao.
Pinuela said the victim suffered severe electrical burn blisters on his chest and other parts of his body.
He was rushed to the nearby Western Visayas Medical Center but was pronounced dead on arrival.
