A construction worker who was celebrating his birthday was arrested in a police anti-drug operation evening of July 31, 2019 in Jaro, Iloilo City.
Darry Gabinete, 44, was collared at his house in Barangay Balantang, Jaro.
Members of Jaro Police Station arrested the suspect after selling a sachet of suspected shabu for P1,100.
When frisked, the suspect further yielded two sachets of suspected shabu.
According to Police Captain Eduardo Siacon Jr., Jaro police chief, the suspect admitted his involvement in the illegal drug trade.
He even identified his source, whom Siacon said would be the next target of their anti-drug operation.
Gabinete is on the watch list of illegal drug personalities of the Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council (BADAC).
While he was subjected to Oplan Tokhang, the suspect did not surrender nor underwent a community-based drug rehabilitation program.
Gabinete is now detained and will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
