ROXAS CITY, Capiz— Two seaside eateries in Brgy. Baybay here were ordered closed by the Bureau of Internal Revenue(BIR) for failing to pay exact taxes to the government.
Led byRoxas City revenue district officerNelia Demalata, the BIR closed down El Maria’s Palabok House and Resto and RML Manokan Haus.
Demalata said they shut down the establishments for failure of the managements to pay exact taxes based on their declaration of sales.
She said they noticed 30 percent decreasein the sales declaration of the two eateries.
Demalata stressed that the closure order was temporary in nature and that the establishments can operate again if the managements pay the exact taxes.
