BIR Capiz exceeds 2020 tax collection goal

ROXAS City – The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) No. 72 based in Roxas City collected PHP1,175,932,464.86 last year, 27.91% higher than its PHP919,313,000.00 tax goal for the period.

“Despite the pandemic, the district office was able to reach its goal. This astounding achievement is not only accredited to the ever supportive and compliant taxpayers of Capiz but also to the frontliners/revenuers of the district,” said BIR RDO No. 72 head Eralen B. De Aro.

“I am appealing again this 2021 that He will continue to shield us from the unseen foe, COVID-19,” added the grateful RDO head who also hailed the Heavenly Father’s intercession in the accomplishment.

The taxes collected are being used to fund the government’s plans and programs of the government.

“As we enter the year 2021, I am appealing again to the benevolent hearts of the Capiceños to continue supporting the activities of the Office in order to reach this year’s collection goal,” De Aro stressed.

The RDO is also set to disclose its tax goal for 2021 as well as plans and programs to achieve it.
