Dr. Seuss’s most iconic trickster returns to the big screen as The Cat in the Hat makes his animated theatrical debut in February 2026, starring Emmy winner Bill Hader.
The first full-length feature from Warner Bros. Pictures Animation, the film brings a fresh spin to the beloved character with a mission to spark joy, imagination, and a little chaos.
Hader voices the mischievous Cat, now a magical agent of the I.I.I.I.—the Institute for the Institution of Imagination and Inspiration, LLC.
Tasked with cheering up siblings Gabby and Sebastian as they adjust to a new town, the Cat faces his most challenging assignment yet.
“Today is going to be THE. BEST. DAY. EVER!” declares Hader’s Cat in the trailer, promising a whimsical ride through wild worlds and heartwarming mischief.
As stakes rise, the Cat must succeed or risk losing his magical hat forever—a test that blends slapstick, magic, and emotional depth in equal measure.
The all-star voice cast includes Xochitl Gomez, Matt Berry, Quinta Brunson, Paula Pell, Giancarlo Esposito, America Ferrera, Bowen Yang, Tituss Burgess, and Tiago Martinez.
Directed by Alessandro Carloni (Kung Fu Panda 3) and Erica Rivinoja (South Park, Trolls), the film mixes Seussian charm with modern animation flair.
Fans can expect a fantastical journey full of irreverent humor, heartfelt lessons, and visually stunning sequences, with IMAX screenings confirmed for a grander experience.
