United City Football Club has kept its word in retaining most of the players, coaches, and staff of the old ownership’s management, the Ceres-Negros FC.
After quickly announcing and confirming the signing of two of the most prominent football players in the country and old members of Ceres, OJ Porteria and Stephan Shrock, United City added another precious gem in Bienvenido Marañon.
Considered to be one of the most excellent strikers the PH football scene has ever seen, Marañon’s arrival will setup a reunion with his old teammates that formed one of the most formidable squads in the Philippines Football League (PFL).
Marañon is the scoring champion in the PFL for the past two seasons and became the all-time top scorer in the AFC Cup.
To honor Marañon’s contributions to the country in every stint he played for the PH, Sen. Miguel Zubiri granted him naturalization after filing a senate bill.
As of now, the United City FC already confirmed that they will be retaining most of the coaching staff and will announce new signees in the coming weeks.
