BACOLOD City – Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson said Thursday that Barangay Health Workers will be given incentives if they convince locals to be vaccinated against COVID-19.
Lacson said this is part of the provincial government’s program to inoculate as many people as possible against the disease.
The BHWs will be given P25 for every person they can fully vaccinate, which means two full doses of the vaccine.
The governor said the provincial government is maximizing its vaccination campaign although this is dependent on the local government units.
“The BHWs have to convince their respective communities especially the senior citizens to get vaccinated,” Lacson said.
Department of Health data indicated that 1,061,975 Negrenses are now fully vaccinated as of May 18.
A four- day vaccination drive is also underway, the governor said.
