“We are conducting the distribution daily to complete the 5,471 vouchers to qualified recipients by February 16,” said BFAR – Provincial Fisheries Office Public Information Officer Lorelyn Ofalla.
The CFSMFF includes P3,000 cash that can be claimed thru a money transfer service and P2,000.00 worth of foods composed of 25-kilo of rice, two trays of egg and three kilograms of dressed chicken.
BFAR-Capiz OIC Provincial Fisheries Officer Edwin Javier led the distribution in coordination with the concerned city or municipal agriculture office as well as barangay officials.
The subsidy is a program of the Department of Agriculture that is intended to provide compensation to a projected reduction or loss of income of farmers and fisherfolks due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Based on the BFAR-PFO Feb. 3 data, beneficiaries who received the subsidy came from Roxas City, 466; as well as the towns of Ivisan, 226; Panay, 945; Pilar, 135; Pontevedra, 356; Pres. Roxas, 143; and Sapi-an, 328.
