JAMINDAN, Capiz – A 37-year-old cockfighting aficionado was injured after he was beaten by two purported Philippine Army soldiers Sunday afternoon here.
Benny Ramos of Brgy. Lucero was hospitalized after the mauling incident inside the cockpit arena at about 4:40 p.m.
Police investigation indicated that the suspects got angry after Ramos refused to pay their bets in the cockfight.
But according to Ramos, he did not bet on the losing cock, which is why he refused to pay. He said he will be preparing appropriate charges against the two purported soldiers who remain unidentified.
